Air fry crispy fish tacos at 200°C (392°F) for 10 minutes.
Crispy fish tacos usually mean standing over a pot of hot oil, but the air fryer gets you the same crunchy coating with a fraction of the mess. A firm white fish works best here since it holds its shape through the breading and cooking without falling apart in the basket.

Ingredients
2 fish fillets, cut into strips
2 tbsp flour
½ cup breadcrumbs or cornflour
1 egg, beaten
4 small tortillas
1 cup shredded cabbage (optional)
2 tbsp yogurt or mayo (optional)
Lemon, to finish (optional)
Hot sauce, to serve (optional)
Salt, pepper, oil spray
Steps
Cut the fish fillets into strips and season well with salt and pepper.
Set up three shallow bowls: flour, beaten egg, and breadcrumbs or cornflour.
Coat each strip in flour, then egg, then the breadcrumbs, pressing the crumbs on so they form a solid crust rather than a patchy one.
Preheat the air fryer to 200°C and arrange the strips in a single layer, leaving space between them.
Spray with oil and air fry for 5 minutes.
Flip each strip over and air fry for the remaining 5 minutes, until the coating is crisp and golden and the fish flakes easily with a fork.
While the fish cooks, shred the cabbage and warm the tortillas — a few seconds in a dry pan or the microwave keeps them pliable.
Spread a little yogurt or mayo over each warm tortilla.
Pile in the shredded cabbage followed by the crispy fish strips.
Finish with a squeeze of lemon and hot sauce to taste, added right before folding so the tortilla doesn't go soggy waiting.
Tip: A quick slaw of cabbage + a squeeze of lemon + a pinch of salt beats any bottled sauce.

Serving & Storage
Serving: Serve two tacos per person with lime wedges on the side and extra hot sauce for anyone who wants more heat.
Storage: Keep the fish and slaw separate in the fridge for up to 2 days, and reheat the fish alone in the air fryer at 190°C for 3–4 min before assembling — building the taco ahead just makes everything soggy.
