Air fry frozen takoyaki at 200°C (392°F) for 8 minutes.
Takoyaki are round and roll around easily - shake the basket gently rather than flipping each one individually, or nudge them with tongs so they don't scorch on one side.

Ingredients
300 g frozen takoyaki (about 12-15 balls), straight from the freezer
Japanese mayo, to drizzle (optional)
Soy sauce or takoyaki sauce, to serve (optional)
Oil spray
Steps
Take the takoyaki straight from frozen - thawing first turns the batter shell soft and mushy instead of crisp.
Preheat the air fryer to 200°C for 3 minutes.
Spray the takoyaki lightly with oil and arrange in a single layer, leaving space between each ball so they crisp on all sides.
Air fry for 4 minutes, then shake the basket or turn each ball over.
Air fry a further 3-4 minutes (about 8 minutes total) until golden and crisp outside, with the centre piping hot - break one open to check if unsure.
Drizzle with Japanese mayo and soy sauce or takoyaki sauce, and serve immediately.
Tip: Takoyaki are round and roll around easily - shake the basket gently rather than flipping each one individually, or nudge them with tongs so they don't scorch on one side.
