Air Fryer Frozen Cheese Rakakat

Air fry frozen cheese rakakat at 190°C (374°F) for 10 minutes.

Rakakat are thin and roll-shaped, so they can scorch on one edge if left still - give them a quarter-turn rather than a full flip if they're wobbling around the basket.

Ingredients

  • 300 g frozen cheese rakakat (about 10 rolls), straight from the freezer
  • Fresh tomato and cucumber salad, to serve (optional)
  • Oil spray

Steps

  1. Take the rakakat straight from frozen - thawing first can make the thin pastry shell go soggy and split before it crisps.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 190°C for 3 minutes.
  3. Spray the rolls lightly all over with oil.
  4. Arrange in a single layer, not touching, so every side of the roll can crisp.
  5. Air fry for 5 minutes, then turn each roll over carefully with tongs.
  6. Air fry a further 4-5 minutes (about 10 minutes total) until deep golden and crisp, checking the cheese is fully melted in the centre of one before pulling the rest.
  7. Rest for a minute - the cheese is molten right out of the fryer - then serve hot.

Tip: Rakakat are thin and roll-shaped, so they can scorch on one edge if left still - give them a quarter-turn rather than a full flip if they're wobbling around the basket.
