Ingredients
300 g frozen falafel (about 12 balls), straight from the freezer
Tahini sauce, to serve (optional)
Pita bread, to serve (optional)
Oil spray
Steps
Take the falafel straight from frozen - don't thaw, or the outside turns soft before it has a chance to crisp.
Preheat the air fryer to 200°C for 3 minutes.
Spray the falafel lightly with oil and arrange in a single layer, leaving gaps between each ball.
Air fry for 5 minutes, then shake the basket or turn the falafel over.
Air fry a further 4-5 minutes (about 10 minutes total) until deeply golden and firm - break one open to check it's hot all the way through, not just warm.
Serve straight away with tahini sauce and pita, while the outside is still crisp.
Tip: Falafel dry out fast once they cool - if you're not eating them immediately, pull them a minute early and let residual heat finish the centre.
