Air fry frozen lumpia (chicken spring rolls) at 193°C (379°F) for 15 minutes.
Lumpia Shanghai's wrapper is thin enough that the air fryer's hot, fast airflow can blister it crisp on its own, but only with a strong preheat and enough space around each roll for the air to actually circulate.

Ingredients
12 frozen lumpia (Filipino-style chicken spring rolls), straight from the freezer
Oil spray
Sweet chilli sauce or spiced vinegar, to serve (optional)
Steps
Do not thaw the lumpia - cooking them frozen is what keeps the thin wrapper from splitting.
Preheat the air fryer to 193°C (380°F) for a full 5 minutes so the basket has strong heat before the frozen rolls go in.
Lightly spray the lumpia with oil on all sides - this protects the delicate wrapper from cracking and helps it brown.
Arrange in a single layer with a gap between each; a crowded basket blocks airflow and steams the wrappers soft instead of crisping them.
Air fry for 7 minutes, then flip each roll.
Air fry a further 7-9 minutes (14-16 minutes total) until deep golden and audibly crisp.
Rest for 1 minute - they firm up as they cool slightly - then serve with sweet chilli sauce.
Tip: Don't crowd the basket - if the lumpia are touching, trapped steam turns the wrapper soft instead of crisp. Cook in two batches if needed.

Serving & Storage
Serving: Serve with sweet chilli sauce or a spiced vinegar dip, Filipino-style.
Storage: Best eaten fresh. Leftovers keep 1 day in the fridge; reheat at 190°C for 4 minutes, though the wrapper won't fully regain its original crunch.
