Air fry baked apples at 180°C (356°F) for 18 minutes.
Baked apples are a simple dessert that leans entirely on the fruit itself — no batter, no crumble, just a good apple and a warm spiced filling. The air fryer's enclosed heat cooks them through evenly without drying out the skin the way a long oven bake can.

Ingredients
2 apples, cored
2 tbsp chopped nuts (optional)
2 dates, chopped (optional)
½ tsp cinnamon (optional)
1 tbsp honey (optional)
1 tsp butter (optional)
Steps
Core the apples, leaving the base intact so the filling stays in.
Score around the middle of each apple with a small knife so the skin doesn't split unevenly as the flesh expands and softens with heat.
In a small bowl, mix the chopped nuts, chopped dates, cinnamon and honey.
Pack the mixture firmly into the cored centre of each apple.
Top each apple with a little butter so it melts down through the filling as it cooks.
Preheat the air fryer to 180°C.
Place the apples upright in the basket, with space between them.
Air fry for 12 minutes.
Check with a knife — it should slide in easily when the apple is soft all the way through — and continue for the remaining 6 minutes if needed, up to 18 minutes total.
Look for slightly wrinkled skin and bubbling filling before serving.
Tip: Choose a firm variety — very soft apples can collapse before the filling warms through.

Serving & Storage
Serving: Serve warm in a bowl with the melted filling spooned over, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a splash of cream alongside.
Storage: Refrigerate for up to 3 days and reheat in the air fryer at 160°C for 5–6 min to warm through — the microwave works too but won't recrisp the skin.
