Air Fryer Stuffed Mushrooms

Air fry stuffed mushrooms at 180°C (356°F) for 8 minutes.

Stuffed mushrooms are usually an oven job that takes twenty-plus minutes to get golden on top, but the air fryer's tighter space and stronger airflow gets there in about half that. A reliable party starter that looks like more effort than it actually is.

Ingredients

  • 12 large mushrooms, stems removed
  • ½ cup cream cheese or grated cheese
  • 1 garlic clove, grated (optional)
  • Chopped parsley (optional)
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs (optional)
  • 1 green chilli, chopped (optional)

Steps

  1. Wipe the mushrooms clean with a damp cloth rather than washing them, so they don't get soggy, then remove the stems.
  2. Finely chop the stems and mix them with the cheese, garlic, parsley and chilli until you have a spoonable filling.
  3. Spoon the filling into each mushroom cap generously.
  4. Top each one with breadcrumbs, pressing lightly so the crumbs stay put once they hit the basket.
  5. Preheat the air fryer and arrange the caps in a single layer.
  6. Air fry at 180°C for 4 minutes.
  7. Check and continue for another 4 minutes (8 minutes total) until the cheese is visibly melted and bubbling and the breadcrumb topping is a deep golden brown.
  8. Let them sit for a minute before serving, since the filling stays very hot.

Tip: Wipe mushrooms with a damp cloth instead of washing so they don’t get soggy.

Serving & Storage

Serving: Serve warm as a starter or party snack, straight from the basket.

Storage: Refrigerate for up to 2 days and reheat in the air fryer at 180°C for 3–4 min; the microwave tends to make the mushrooms release water and go soggy.
